Passports, Visas, and Insurance
Passports
Please check that the participant's passport is valid for at least six months beyond the return date. If not, please proceed with the renewal process as soon as possible.
30-day visa-free short-term stay
Upon entry, the following conditions must be met: (1) You must possess a round-trip airline ticket to leave the Philippines or a ticket to a third country, and (2) your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the end of your stay. If you wish to stay for more than 30 days, you can apply for an extension of your visa locally. The school will assist you with the process.
Age restrictions for entry into the Philippines
Individuals aged 15 and older can enter the Philippines alone. Those under 15 must be accompanied by a parent (with the same surname). If the surnames differ, a proof of relationship (in English) is required. Non-Filipino minors under 15 traveling alone or without parental accompaniment to the Philippines need a WEG (Waiver of Exclusion Ground). Parents or guardians must apply for this themselves.
A WEG application allows minors under 15 to travel alone or with someone other than a parent with the same surname. Generally, individuals under 15 are prohibited from entering the Philippines alone or with someone other than their parents (if the parents do not share the same surname, a proof of relationship in English is required). However, by applying for a Waiver of Exclusion Ground (WEG) in advance at the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of the Philippines in your country, they can enter the country alone or with someone other than their parents. Note that if siblings or grandparents are accompanying the minor, a WEG application is also required.
WEG
SSP stands for Special Study Permit. This is a type of visa required for foreigners who enter the Philippines for tourism purposes and wish to study legally in the country. It grants special permission to study at a school during their stay. The SSP is issued by each school and is valid for the duration of the study period.
ACR-I CARD stands for Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card, which is equivalent to a foreigner registration certificate. It must be obtained when applying for an SSP (Special Study Permit). With the increase in movement to and from the Philippines, it is designed to monitor and restrict the entry and exit of criminals across national borders. Its purpose is to improve the security of both international students and the country by registering, verifying the identity, and monitoring students. The validity period is one year from the date of application.
For the Junior Camp, we will handle the SSP application at the school. Please provide two identical photos sized 5cm x 5cm, with a plain white background (colored or patterned wallpaper is not acceptable), and without glasses or hats.
SSP+ACR-I CARD
Overseas travel insurance is essential for ensuring a safe and fruitful study abroad experience. Sudden illnesses such as diarrhea or fever, as well as injuries and accidents, can result in significant costs when receiving medical care abroad. This is also true in Cebu. To ensure you can rest and focus on proper treatment during emergencies, having insurance is crucial. Most overseas travel accident insurance policies also cover loss of belongings.
Please bring the original overseas travel insurance certificate with you. We also request that you submit a copy of the insurance certificate in advance.
At Cebu-Navi, we ask that you enroll in an overseas travel insurance that allows for cashless usage in emergencies and provides coverage for COVID-19 treatment.

Cebu-Navi English Junior Camp
FAQ
Q
My child is not able to speak or understand any English. Is that okay?
A
Cebu-Navi's Junior Camp and Seasonal Programs (Summer School) for elementary, middle, and high school students are aimed at making the students familiar with the English language. Fun and approachable Filipino instructors lead a well-balanced mix of 1-on-1 lessons and group classes, allowing your child to become immersed in English and develop a comfortable familiarity with the language. In addition to the four skills, Science experiments and activities will be conducted in English, allowing the students to learn the language alongside peers of the same age, and accumulate a wealth of experiences. Even if they can't speak at all at first, they can participate with confidence and have fun. The curriculum is developed by American academics. They will experience a world-class English environment.
Q
Will my child feel lonely if they participate alone?
A
90% of participants enroll alone, while 10% attend with siblings. Every year, many children from elementary to high school participate in the program, and most of them make friends from the very first day through games and activities during the orientation. Your child will also make great friends with their dormitory roommates, science groups, and classmates. There's no need to worry!
There will also be a guardian instructor in the room or next door, so your child can share anything with them. There have been no children in the past who felt lonely due to not making friends. Some children even cry at the end of the program, not wanting to part from their friends or instructors. Many students continue to stay in touch after returning home. One of the unique features of Cebu-Navi Junior Camp is that children can make like-minded friends from across the world.
Q
What is the room allocation like? What about the nationalities?
A
The rooms are shared only with those of the same gender, and in the same or similar grade. The rooms will be shared with groups of 2 to 4 children, and same-gender guardian instructors skilled in education will lead daily life in English, providing attentive care for younger children as well.
The majority of the children are of Japanese nationality.
Q
Can valuable items like passports be kept in a safe place?
A
Passports and mobile phones will be securely stored in the school safe for all participants. Elementary school students' cash will also be kept in the school safe. Students in middle school and above will be required to manage their own cash.
Q
My child is a picky eater. I'm worried that the meals might not suit their taste.
A
All three meals will be served in a buffet style, so the students can choose and enjoy the foods they like. However, staff will encourage children to try a variety of foods as part of their nutrition education. Many children also bring their favorite snacks, such as ready-to-eat meals and instant noodles, every year. While hot water will be available, please bring your own utensils, such as chopsticks or spoons, if you plan to eat meals you brought from home.
Q
What should my child do if they start to feel unwell?
A
There are several guardian instructors with nursing qualifications. Additionally, we have a system in place to call in doctors from our partner clinic (cashless service available with insurance). Instruct your child to reach out to nearby staff if they don’t feel well. They are available 24/7 to provide care. If a student needs to miss class due to feeling unwell and rests in their room, the instructors and staff will check in regularly to see how they're doing. If necessary, we will promptly take them to the closest hospital.
Q
Can you provide training for TOEIC, TOEFL, and high school or university entrance exams?
A
Yes, we can. Before departure, we will discuss your goals. We offer customized preparation for boarding school entrance exams, admission tests to American and European schools, Duolingo, SAT, and more. One session of the daily 1 on 1 lessons is dedicated to exam preparation, but if you would like more sessions, please let us know. Additionally, if you have past exam questions from your target university or a specific vocabulary book, please let us know. We can incorporate them into the vocabulary class.
Q
Is there time to do school homework?
A
Every evening there will be some time dedicated to homework from your homecountry school. At least 1 hour for elementary school students, 2 to 3 hours for middle and high school students. During this time, you can see children helping each other or studying diligently on their own. Additionally, tutors will supervise the children's study time. Please provide your child with a dedicated homework file (containing printed materials organized by date). However, for elementary school students, please make sure the amount of homework can be completed in about 30 to 60 minutes. Please also provide additional materials that your child can use for independent study once they finish their homework. We suggest that you fill out the 'Homework and Tasks Plan' that we sent in advance, together with your child and bring it along.
